Discover Twenty-Nine Latest Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-loving heroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a exclusive event held at NYCC. Is this a radical new set or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.

Check out here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful background. All items listed below releases on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before we get into the many special decks and collections on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a few shell-shocking features. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu, in which gamers can play powerful creatures into the battlefield when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a bit (Sneak counts as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced designer stated. “However in other settings, because the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art designed exclusively for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, that's now a legal card in every format of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from this set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they were careful to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be Standard-legal and what other sets were going to be alongside it in Standard,” the designer says. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your commander based on how you combine them (five cards have a special partner ability named “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area instead of just one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon includes 37 land cards.)

How will the TMNT edition of Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is offering a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil land cards
  • 15 Regular basic lands
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promotional card
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for four people to draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (aka, the prize for winning)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • 10 Non-foil token cards
  • One drafting guide (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic game products specifically for new players. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that every Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
